The Distinguished Young Woman of Iowa for 2020 is Grace Wood, from Indianola.

Grace’s achievements include: National Honor Society Member • 4.0 Honor Roll • Two-Time Bill Riley Talent Search Sprout Champion • 2008-2015, 2017-2019 Miss Majorette of Iowa • 2013, 2018, 2019 Iowa State Grand Solo and Strut Champion • 2014 and 2016 National and Grand National Corps Championship Teams • 2012 Grand National Baton Twirling Champion • 2009 Little Miss Majorette of America • Student Leader at the Pursuing Victory with Honors Summit • School Ambassador at the Student Voice Rally at the capitol

In addition, Grace’s activities include: Varsity Football Cheerleading • Talented and Gifted Program • Concert Band • National Honor Society • Feature Twirler for High School Marching Band • Jazz, ballet, lyrical, and contemporary dance classes • Fellowship of Christian Athletes • Baton Twirling • Silver Cord Club--Over 100 hours of service
Organized a 5K Run for Alzheimer’s Research • Organized a Veteran’s Day Program and fundraiser for Warren County Veterans • Organized and taught a baton twirling clinic for elementary students • Taught free baton classes to YMCA Day Camp students • Tutored a special needs kindergartner
