The Distinguished Young Woman of Iowa for 2020 is Grace Wood, from Indianola.

Grace’s achievements include: Class of 2020 Des Moines Register's Academic All-State Team • 4.0 Honor Roll • 2020 Iowa Governor's Scholar • 2012 Grand National Baton Twirling Champion • 2008-2015, 2017-2019 Miss Majorette of Iowa • 2014 and 2016 National and Grand National Corps Championship Teams • 2013, 2018, 2019 Iowa State Grand Solo and Strut Champion • Two-Time Bill Riley Talent Search Champion • Student Advocate at the Iowa State Capitol Student Voice Rally • Student Leader at the Pursuing Victory with Honors Summit

In addition, Grace’s activities include: Baton Twirling • Talented and Gifted Program • Jazz, ballet, lyrical, and contemporary dance classes • National Honor Society • Feature Twirler for High School Marching Band • Concert Band • Fellowship of Christian Athletes • Varsity Football Cheerleading • Silver Cord Club--Over 200 hours of service
Led 2 YMCA Youth Programs; Saturday Night Live and Y Leaders Club • Organized a Veteran’s Day Program and fundraiser for Warren County Veterans • Organized and taught a baton twirling clinic for elementary students • Organized a 5K run for Alzheimer's research • Taught free baton classes to YMCA Day Camp students
